Purpose, prayer, forgiveness, rest, service and belonging — practised in your own tradition, with the research printed alongside, including the parts that disappointed us.
Start here The six practicesSincere, but parked in one slot of the week. The intention to pray more, rest more, give more — crowded out by Monday, every Monday.
The same beliefs, woven through the week — a purpose named, a real day of rest, a grudge finally laid down, a friend in the congregation who knows you. The faith is not different. The practising is.
What we teach is what survived checking. Each practice comes with what the research found and what it never tested.
Knowing what you are for
Attention given to God
Laying down what you carry
A day kept like a promise
Giving that is done, not remembered
People who know you
No study has tested whether God exists or whether prayer is heard. Science cannot reach those questions. What it can measure is smaller, and these stood up well.
Across 488,765 people followed for up to 32 years, a stronger sense of purpose in life went with lower mortality. It is one of the best-evidenced findings in the whole field, and purpose is faith’s own ground.
Sutin, Zavala, Milad et al., Psychological Medicine, 2026
In national panel data, the link between attending services and life satisfaction ran largely through friendships made in the congregation. Attending among strangers did little on its own.
Lim & Putnam, American Sociological Review, 2010
In a pre-registered trial with 702 people analysed, four weeks of Centering Prayer raised daily spiritual experience (d = 0.39) and mystical experience (d = 0.37) against a comparison group, and the daily-experience gain was still there a month later.

Scripture, the classic Christian writers and modern voices, each verified against its source and arranged by the themes of an ordinary life — free to explore, one passage at a time.

Six practices of the Christian tradition, taught with the evidence alongside, on the FlourishIQ platform. A short honest lesson, an activity that produces something real, and a record you can return to — with no scores and no streaks, because what happens inside a practice matters more than how often you do it.
